Ways of Acquiring Sustenance

Fifteen legislated ways and means that help a person to acquire rizq (sustenance).

10. Benevolence Towards the Weak

The evidence is the saying of Allāh's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم):

"Are you aided and granted sustenance except by way of the poor, weak ones amongst you?"[1]

And also his (صلى الله عليه وسلم) saying:

Seek (closeness to) me through your poor, weak ones for you are granted sustenance and aided through your poor, weak ones.[2]

From the benefits of benevolence and kindess to the poor and weak is expansive sustenance, aid from Allāh and honour.
